Hi, I’m Marie.
Originally from France, I moved to Canada in 2008 and completed my physiotherapy training at the Université de Sherbrooke, graduating with a Master's degree in Physiotherapy in 2018.
I began my career in private practice in Québec, spending several years working with a wide variety of people and conditions. These experiences helped shape the way I practice today: with curiosity and collaboration, and an understanding that recovery rarely looks exactly the same from one person to another.
I decided to take the next step in my professional journey and create AUMA Physio, right here in Ottawa. AUMA Physio reflects the way I want to approach physiotherapy and patient care, an approach that holistically puts the patient first.
The story behind AUMA
The name AUMA was inspired by L’Aume, a river in southwestern France. Rooted in my French heritage, the name evokes a sense of flow, breath, life, and vitality — concepts that naturally connect with movement, recovery, and growth.
AUMA was created around the simple idea that recovery is about more than treating an injury. It is about understanding your body, rebuilding confidence in movement, and helping you return to the things that matter to you.
My approach to physiotherapy is individualized and active. I want you to feel heard, to understand what is happening in your body, and to feel involved in your recovery.
At AUMA, the goal is simple: to help you move, recover, and grow.
Beyond Physiotherapy
Outside of the clinic, movement has always been an important part of my life. I love sports, travelling, and taking on new challenges — especially when they involve exploring somewhere new.
I've also experienced rehabilitation from the other side — first after surgery at age 10, and years later when an injury kept me from running for an extended period. Getting back to sports took a lot of patience, progressive loading, and plenty of adjustments!
Today, I'm as active — if not more — than I was before, and continue to challenge myself.
These experiences have given me a personal appreciation for what it takes to return to the activities you love, and are part of why I especially enjoy helping others get back to doing what matters to them.
